CC-Round 1 Epilogue

"Beyra, contestants are beginning to return. Wait……do we have a group of four?" The small assistant cocked his head.

Rolling her eyes, Beyra looked at him like he was crazy. "No, are largest group is of three." Then, following his line of sight, she saw four canine silhouettes advancing on the ferris wheel. "Who is that?" The question was rhetorical, but either way, her assistant had no chance to respond. The large bearlike dog had leaped down from her perch to stalk toward the group.

"What is the meaning of this?" she asked with a snarl.

"You said nothing against returning as friends," Spoon replied. "Just that one would have to take another's prey."

Bristling but confused, she responded, "Then who won? You're both carrying prey."

Gesturing towards the wolfhound, the drifter said, "Our large gray friend here is the victor. I know the consequences of my loss, and I do not condemn her for them."

Dyogi tossed the bird to Beyra with disgust, saying, "Here's your prey, Beyra. I hope you're happy. Now could I sleep a while?"

Beyra was obviously frustrated by the loophole, but dipped her great head in acknowledgement. "Very well. I'll send someone to wake you when everyone returns. Spork, come with me." Picking up the bird, she waited for Spoon to get ahead of her, then followed.
